Breast Cancer Awareness

Every October, the US observes National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, breast cancer is second most common cancer in the United States, affecting both women and men.

This month, we invite you to join Common Sense Fashion as we bring awareness to preventative measures and helpful resources that may help you and your loved ones beat the odds.

EARLY DETECTION is key in getting ahead of, and potentially winning the battle.  Women age 40 and above should talk to their doctors about when and how often to get a mammogram.  Here are a few steps you and your loved ones can take to improve your chances of staying healthy:

  • Conduct monthly self-exams. In addition to medical screenings, many medical professionals recommend a monthly self-exam. To learn how to do a breast self-exam, check out this self-exam guide offered by NationalBreastCancer.org.
  • Quit smoking.
  • Eat a healthy diet rich in fruits and veggies.  Limit your processed food and sugar intake.
  • Exercise more - Regular exercise can also lower your risk factors.  Start with walking - it's FREE!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we at Common Sense Fashion have created these beautifully designed products.  $1 from the sale of each product in this collection will be donated to a national breast cancer campaign.
